Rooney's Boxing Gym - Location Hire

Rooney's is the premier Boxing gym in the United Kingdom. Our world class training facility is located in Holyrood Street, London SE1 close to the London landmark Tower Bridge.

Rooney's Boxing Gym has become a habitual haunt for all the media, given our reputation and the many current champions that are based at the gym. Therefore both our members and staff are used to film crew routine and are more than happy to deal with your requests. You will have unrestricted movement around the gym and the members are always willing to move out of the filming area or remain in the background if required.

FEES & HOURS:
The gym is available for location work 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The normal hours of operation are as follows: Monday to Friday, 7am - 9pm, Saturday 7am - 4pm and Sunday 10am - 2pm . Rooney's is available for still and video shoots whilst the gym is open, or should you prefer exclusive use we are willing to close. The rates for shoots are as follow - GYM OPEN: Still Photography: £50 per hour Video/Television: £100 per hour. EXCLUSIVE USE* (Gym Closed) £200 per hour or £2,000 for 12 hours. OUT OF NORMAL WORKING HOURS*: £150 per hour or £1,250 for 10 hours *includes a member of Rooney's personnel to be on the premises at all time during the shoot.

Rooney's Boxing Gym - Reception

From the moment you arrive Rooney's Boxing Gym you will find that our friendly and helpful staff will ensure that the facility is ready for you and your crew, whether you are filming whilst the gym open for business or for your exclusive use.

The reception area has comfortable seating, four leather sofas and two additional leather chairs and is suitable for interview situations - click here for interview example 1 - as well as a nice comfortable rest area for your production crew.

As well as a TV and DVD player there are also various drink dispensers and power points for laptops etc.

Rooney's Boxing Gym - Boxing Gym

As you can see in the surrounding photographs the boxing training area of the gym is quite substantial. This area consists of two full size boxing rings, ten Heavybags, three Speed Bags and a Reflex Bag. There is adequate area around the boxing rings for the positioning of lighting rigs as well as free movement of cameraman and sound engineer - click here for film action example1 - and below also see the More4 News video, which has various sections which were filmed at Rooney's Boxing Gym, and AmyB's music video, which was shot entirely at the gym.

Rooney's Boxing Gym - MilXtreme Fitness Suite

Our Extreme fitness suite, which is located at the rear of the premises, is a bit special to put it mildly. Not only do we have a full compliment of Olympic weights and Kettle bells but also a custom built frame for rope climbing, chin ups and Olympic rings. The suite is divided into three areas - MilXtreme, Weights room and machine room - which inlcudes Running machines and resistance weight machines.

In addition to the obvious gym facilities there are seperate male and felmale changing rooms, complete with showers, lockers, massage table and changing bench with hangers. There is also a six person infrared Sauna and Ice plunge bath.
